Uncovering Energy Savings in Fleets of Electric Motor-Driven Systems
There are always opportunities to improve energy efficiency in industrial processes, but to spot these opportunities takes a meticulously precise audit. The added element of data analytics to provide a deeper insight into the condition of equipment takes these audits to the next level. This is where ABB’s Energy Appraisal solutions come in.
By collecting and analysing all types of available data, these appraisals have the power to transform the energy performance of industrial equipment. They identify opportunities for energy and cost savings, as well as for reductions in CO₂ emissions, with minimal disruption to uptime.
ABB conducted energy audits on over >4’000 industrial motors across various sectors and found a huge number of opportunities to make significant efficiency gains. From that data, we’ve concluded that upgrades could save businesses on average 40% per motor, and potentially even more for those operating without a variable speed drive
