Presentation Title:
Cross-Analysis of Automation and Regulation Practices: Unlocking Energy Efficiency in Europe’s Existing Buildings
Track C: Clean Energy Transition
Session C3: Policy and Regulation for the Energy Transition

Abstract:
| The energy transition requires buildings to be managed more intelligently through the automation and regulation of technical equipment, particularly in existing buildings, which currently offer the greatest potential for optimising energy management.
While the existing building stock is still relatively under-equipped, the current rate of deployment of BMS systems suggests that many commercial buildings will have to step up their efforts considerably to comply with the imminent regulatory requirements. ARTELIA offers a cross-analysis of European practices through the prism of national regulations, such as the BACS decree in France, and their impact on the energy performance of buildings. Thanks to an operational presence in several countries, ARTELIA will share concrete feedback from its local experts, illustrating the successes and technical challenges encountered when implementing automation solutions. We will highlight the best practices identified and the technical or regulatory obstacles. |
